Bethan Lloyd is a Welsh artist whose trance inducing vocals expand over an ocean of sublime strings, harmonic layering and otherworldly ecstasy. Her sonic exploration has taken her from training as a classical singer, immersing herself in Berlin’s experimental music scene, to learning with shamans and exploring the ancient teachings of the natural world.
In recent years, her work has been inspired by the diverse spiritual cultures she encountered while travelling, and a return to an exploration of the origins of her ancient native culture in the British Isles, it’s spirituality and bardic traditions and the poetry of her mothertongue. A new album, currently in production, produced by Lankum producer, John’Spud’ Murphy is due for release in summer 2025.
In 2024 Bethan took her new music to festival stages across the UK, weaving her original Welsh songs with improvisations to create a unique experience – a journey, a ceremony on stage, described by many as a ‘transformational experience’.
