Holy Gloam are a 4 piece alt rock/shoegaze band from North Wales/NW England. Formed by songwriter Julian Neale in 2021, the band played a smattering of live shows around the Chester/Wrexham area in the first half of 2022 leading up to the release of Welsh Music Prize longlisted debut album ‘Small Nothings’. More studio time in 2023 with Ben Dempsey Sawin (Mowbird/Eitha Da) led to 3 new songs, all released digitally between 2023/24. The previous single ‘Fall into Innocence’, and the upcoming single ‘Numberless/Nonetheless’ were produced by Bill Ryder-Jones’ at his Yawn studio in West Kirby, and feature as a double A side 7’’ which has been released by Shipwrecked Records of Liverpool.
The band have played a number of gigs across North Wales & North West England, including support slots with Andy Bell’s Space Station, Bill Ryder-Jones at his Yawnfest, and appeared at Focus Wales showcase festival. Reviews of live performances have led to sound comparisons to Teenage Fanclub, Dinosaur Jr and Sugar, amongst others.
