“My new obsession… harmonies to die for!” Sian Eleri, BBC Radio 1
Singer, songwriter and producer Jodie Nicholson navigates many of the different relationships we have in our lives: friends, family, relationships with ourselves and, more personally, her changing relationship with music.
Nicholson takes the listener on intimate journeys of minimalism and melancholy, with her signature rich harmonies and ethereal, reed-like vocals remaining a compelling constant.
Exploring themes of escapism, nostalgia, self-reflection and changes of heart, Nicholson leans on musical influences including Daughter, Matt Corby and Laura Marling.
Live, Nicholson has graced Wilderness main stage, All Points East, The Alt Escape, Y Not, Liverpool Sound City, Cambridge Folk Festival, Live at Leeds, Long Division and Twisterella, not to mention supporting Emeli Sandé, Tom Rosenthal, Bernard Butler, The Howl & The Hum, Siv Jakobsen and The Futureheads at sold-out shows.
As well as extensive support at BBC Radio 1 from the likes of Sian Eleri and Jess Iszatt, Jodie has also been playlisted on BBC Radio 6 Music and picked up further airplay from Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 2.
Spring 2025 sees Nicholson release her brand new PRS Foundation funded EP ‘We Can Talk’. With collaboration at the heart of the project, the EP features co-writes with the likes of Old Sea Brigade, The Early Purple, Pet Snake and Cattle & Cane.
