It’s from the first draft that Patche creates their music in a single stroke. The album includes deconstructed improvisations that are reassembled in a colorful and harmonious way.
The band combines the talents of Eliott Durocher Bundock, Étienne Dupré, Lévy Bourbonnais, Mandela Coupal-Dalgleish and JB Pinard – behind the remarkable Mon Doux Saigneur, Alex Burger, Lumière, Duu, zouz and Zombie Life Mon Coeur. They explore the limits of modular synths in an experimental and psychedelic approach in the spirit of krautrock. They use textures true to ambient music and superimpose hypnotic rhythms with atypical loops and tones of experimental rock, art rock, avant-garde, techno and dance.
The intention of these five reputable musicians is to accept with pleasure and satisfaction the union between live performance and the rigidity of synthesizers. Without losing the organic nature of their instruments, Patche transports the listener’s ear and mind into a cosmic universe, both strange and familiar resulting in a multi-layered instrumental experience.
Document, their second album further, reveals Patche’s intriguing identity, which has taken shape since its impromptu birth during the recording of the first album. Still equipped with modular synthesizers, drum machine, harmonica, digital processing, acoustic drums and electric bass, Eliott Durocher Bundock, Étienne Dupré, Lévy Bourbonnais, Mandela Coupal-Dalgleish and JB Pinard manipulate their instruments to give their version of techno and other festive 4h AM music. This time, the improvisations are more fragmented but also more directed: the structure has been solidified and the intention is more conscious. Patche dig deeper into their expression to come out with a more cohesive, effervescent work that invites you to surrender more than ever.
