As a Liverpool-based alt rock act, Tender Claws’ gritty, fuzz-heavy sound comprises powerful grunge-influenced outbursts and more brooding episodes. Her distinctively dark vocals move between alluring velvet tones and banshee-like wails. She is inspired by the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Pixies and grunge acts of the 90s, alongside punk pioneers like Iggy Pop and Adam Ant. She released her menacing debut single ‘Anglerfish’ in June 2024, followed by the satirical ‘I’m a Leech’. November saw the release of her explosive single ‘Inferno’, which Louder Than War described as “3-and-a-half minutes of controlled rage that would make anyone jump around a dancefloor” and “reminiscent of Nirvana’s In Utero”. She has received support from BBC Introducing Merseyside and Amazing Radio. 2025 sees the release of more singles, an EP and more live shows.
