  • Sam Heaton (Notts County FC / The Nest)

    Sam is the newly appointed Events and Sales Manager at Notts County Football Club, tasked with driving live events at the club. He is also opening the calendar for Nottingham’s new 1,200-capacity venue, The Nest, to bands and promoters.

    With 18 years of experience in the industry, Sam brings a wealth of event management expertise. He has previously managed a range of music venues, including those with capacities of 180, 450, and 550. His career includes key roles at Rough Trade (4 years), DHP Family and Rescue Rooms (7 years), The National Ice Centre & Motorpoint Arena (1 year), and as an international touring musician with his band Eyre Llew (11 years), amassing experience with over 4,000 events.

    As General Manager at Saltbox for The National Ice Centre, Sam curated events for renowned artists such as Craig Charles, Embrace, Everything Everything, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Alt Blk Era, Frank Turner, and more.

    Sam’s time at Rough Trade in Nottingham as the Bar & Events Manager saw him manage over 300 events annually, with notable shows by Lewis Capaldi, The Hives, Jake Bugg, Bastille, Rina Sawayama, Bombay Bicycle Club, Suede, Ashnikko, Dry Cleaning, and many others.

    During his seven years with DHP Family, Sam was instrumental in booking and promoting events across multiple venues in Nottingham, including scheduling between 5 and 18 events each week at Rescue Rooms. He also played a key role in co-booking and coordinating city festivals such as Record Store Day, Splendour, Dot to Dot, and Beat The Streets.

    In addition to his work in event management, Sam is an active musician. As a member of Eyre Llew, he has toured 22 countries in the UK, Europe, and Asia Pacific, performing at hundreds of festivals and shows since 2015 including Glastonbury’s John Peel Stage in 2019.

    Sam is passionate about expanding his professional network and is open to discussing collaboration opportunities for shows and events at The Nest or Notts County FC’s stadium.
