Married couple James (guitar/vocals) and Katie MacGregor (piano/vocals) infuse their music with originality and charm, building tracks around classical piano, alluring chord progressions, and impeccable harmonies. Drawing inspiration from Jesca Hoop, Mitski, Radiohead, and Kate Bush, they meld classical and folk elements with modern sensibilities.
Their talent has been recognized at the Purbeck Folk Rising and Liverpool Songwriting competitions, with extensive airplay on BBC Introducing and regional radio. Katie’s acclaimed performance on Channel 4’s The Piano (Series 2) garnered high praise from judges.
Igloo Hearts have shared stages with esteemed acts like Michele Stodart of The Magic Numbers, Welsh Music Prize winner The Gentle Good, and BBC radio’s Mark Radcliffe in sold-out shows. They have also enchanted audiences at venues including the Liverpool Philharmonic, Llangollen International Eisteddfod, and various intimate churches and theatres.
