KJ is a South Wales–based Hip Hop artist whose sound is rooted in classic rap traditions while remaining forward-thinking and versatile. Born in Burnley, Lancashire, he relocated to Wales at a young age, moving throughout the Vale of Glamorgan — an experience that shaped both his perspective and lyrical voice. Introduced to Hip Hop early through artists such as Eminem, and later influenced by legends including Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Gang Starr, and The Notorious B.I.G., KJ developed a deep respect for lyricism and authenticity.
He began writing and freestyling at 14, sharpening his skills through street cyphers, house-party battles, and live performance. After studying music technology, KJ committed fully to creating and releasing his own material. In 2019, he made his mark in the UK battle scene with appearances on Don’t Flop in Cardiff and Bristol. Today, KJ continues to evolve, releasing music across Hip Hop, Grime, Garage, and House, while standing as a founding member of the South Wales collective Isle of Hip Hop.
