Mike is a North Wales musician influenced by DIY electronica, psychedelia, folk and indie.. and Dire Straits (cheers Dad). This will be his first time playing Focus Wales as a solo act, having previously played nearly every year with Mechanical Owl and once with Tim and Sam’s Tim and the Sam Band with Tim and Sam. Mike’s solo live set revolves around a Polyend Tracker, which is a hardware sequencer/sampler based on the old software used to create music for 1980s/90s video games, they were also used heavily in early electronic music. Mike then adds an old keyboard, a sampler, a guitar and his voice to create a varied and sprawling sound of smile inducing, melancholic songs.
