The enfant terrible of the Liverpool Psych scene that is Nudist, consisting of three members hailing from Liverpool / Wales, formed from a mutual love of krautrock, psych and Japanese noise rock, described in review as “noise terrorists,” Nudist uses momentum, intensely rhythmic drum patterns, thudding baselines and harsh dissonant guitars to create driving psychedelic atmosphere. The drums propel it all forward, creating rhythmic disturbances and uniting the psych sounds of the other instruments giving it a Space Ritual cohesion. Disembodied vocals and a guitar dripping in effects keep it otherworldly and a bass that keeps pounding out rhythm and melody to give it all extra definition.
Nudist’s unique blend of sounds and intense stage presence has earned performances with the likes of GNOD, Bo Ningen, Japanese Television, Bonnacons of Doom, Lunch Money Life, and Dhidalah. From this, Nudist are set to release their highly anticipated debut single in early 2024, bringing their kraut/psych/noise creation to the public ear.
