Rebecca Hurn is a global award winning folk/pop singer-songwriter from South Wales. Rebecca was the only unsigned artist to headline The Isle Of Wight festival in 2021. Awards include ‘Best UK Songwriter 2022’ at the UK Songwriters Awards, in partnership with The Brits; ‘Best Song’ at Cardiff Music Awards; ‘Best Folk Songwriter’ in NYC’s Independent Music Awards. Rebecca’s success is portrayed in her frequent radio plays across BBC platforms such as Radio 2 and 6, where she was described as ‘a national treasure’.
Rebecca’s excitedly anticipated debut album, ‘Brace For Impact’, is due for release on May 10th, 2024. PRS, BBC and The New York Songwriters Circle have all been massive supporters of Rebecca’s debut album, awarding her with grants to pursue her recording ambitions. Her album has exceeded the highest quality of her previously extremely successful releases ‘Panic’ and ‘Waves’. Her new material is inspired from her musical ventures to New York, exploring the city’s musical avenues and connecting with Tina Shafer (Mentor and writer for Celine Dion), Judy Stakee (Warner) and writing with Darryl Rahn (Songwriter, appearing on Jimmy Fallon, who co-wrote her opening track ‘Gave Up Giving’ on her debut album.) Rebecca has as well solely written film scores for two feature length films, and also had ‘Panic’ feature during the end credits of the film ‘Protect and Serve’, which premiered at The Cannes Film Festival.
Rebecca has performed at some stand out festivals multiple times such as ‘The Great Escape’, ‘How The Light Gets In’, ’Focus Wales’, ‘The Big Retreat’, ‘Wychwood’ and ‘In It Together Festival’. Alongside festivals, Rebecca has also played at some nationally recognised venues such as The Principality Stadium, Wales Millennium Centre and The Tramshed. Moving further afield, Rebecca was personally selected by British Pop musician Pixie Lott to perform at her music showcase in London, sharing the line up with global chart artist Tom Grennan. Globally recognised venues include New York’s famous ‘Rockwood Music Hall’, ‘Arlene’s Grocery’, and also the well known ‘Pianos’ and ‘The Bitter End’, home to Lana Del Ray and Lady Gaga’s early success. Her two most recent headline shows in her hometown city, Cardiff, were completely sold out.
The excitement for Rebecca’s debut album is ever growing, which is reflective of how she has grown and matured as an artist and propelled her craft to its highest potential. Her debut album ‘Brace For Impact’ is sure to set new highs for her already successful career as an independent artist.
