Slow life are an alt rock band from Wrexham via London. Since forming in 2024, the band has crafted a soulful and nostalgic college rock sound, living somewhere between Gruff Rhys’ esoteric genre-bending, Blur’s art rock sensibilities, and the peerless songwriting of the Clash.

Launched in November 2025, Fever is a monster level-up single, described by BBC Radio Wales’ Adam Walton as ‘six minutes of sheer excellence’. Written under the influence of a Covid fever dream, the track captures the intensity of a Slow Life gig. It evokes Stereolab and Super Furry Animals’ more experimental work, building, enveloping and ratcheting up tension before exploding into a manic psychedelic swirl.

Things are going to the next level in 2026 now the band have secured support from BBC Cymru Horizons’ Launchpad fund, with an exciting project now in the works to bring Slow Life to new fans and bookers. For now, Slow Life are backing up the hype with their first tour in March, playing Wrexham, Cardiff and Manchester, and now a major showcase slot at Focus Wales.
