SO WHAT NOW are a Wrexham based jazz quintet who present an extensive and eclectic repertories including pieces made famous by some of the 20th century’s most inspirational jazz pioneers. Drawing from jazz standards, classic Latin grooves & blues all blended with their own brand of vibrancy, humour and most importantly a whole lot of swing!
Their programme features popular numbers but always with a few surprises thrown in, including modern, bebop and cool West Coast jazz.
The quintet features the saxophone and trumpet, complemented superbly by piano, double bass and drums and are joined by female vocals for many numbers.
As well as performing their own shows, they have always been keenly involved in the running of jam sessions, giving playing opportunities over the years to many local musicians. This is something they strive to encourage.
