Wah Wah Wah is a four-piece psychedelic rock powerhouse from Seoul, featuring members from South Korea’s most influential indie acts like Silica Gel, DTSQ, and Dead Buttons. Originally started in 2021 as a solo project by leader Suhyun Kim, the group evolved into a full band, blending the raw grit of garage rock with the complex structures of progressive rock.
Their discography spans from the surf-country vibes of Midnight Breakfast (2022) to the Krautrock-inspired rhythms of their latest album, Burnt Crispy Beats. Often compared to King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Wah Wah Wah stands out with a more intuitive, high-octane youthful energy. Operating under their independent label, Good Boy Records, the band is also renowned for their immersive live experiences. Collaborating with visual director VJ Ohamking, they pair their music with 1960s-style “liquid light show” animations, creating a sensory-overload performance that is truly unique in the Korean music scene.
