Why Horses? are a five-piece collective channelling post-punk grit, post-disco rhythm, and dance-punk urgency into something romantic and thought-provoking. They’re loud, weird, and unorthodox. Their sound pulses with tension and release. Formed by long-time collaborators Gabriel Lester (Guitar/Vocals), Les Davies (Bass), and Hadi Checri (Percussion), and expanded with William Dadswell (Violin) and Dilibe Aneke (Guitar), the band emerged from late-night Cardiff rehearsals into something stranger and more cinematic than they first imagined.
