I’m an Arts project manager with 28 years’ experience in arts development, project management and grant funding schemes. I was an Arts Development Officer and Portfolio Manager at Arts Council of Wales for 26 years, with responsibility for a portfolio including music, community arts, theatre and festivals. I also worked closely with Wales Arts International on delivering international music showcase projects.
As the Wales Delegate Leader for the Festival Interceltique de Lorient, I organise the Wales delegation of artists and performers at the annual festival in Brittany, one of the largest in France. I’m a fluent Welsh speaker, and winner of Dysgwr y Flwyddyn at the Eisteddfod Genedlaethol in 2024. As a musician with the Welsh language folk band, Carreg Lafar, I’ve been involved in recording and releasing four albums, touring north America 5 times, as well as touring the UK and European mainland.
Since April 2024, my work as a freelance project manager includes working with Trac Cymru on the ‘Can y Cymoedd’ and ‘TAITH’ projects, Tŷ Cerdd on artist development for WOMEX, as well as supporting both organisations as Project Manager for the ACW Traditional Music Review. I organise a series of folk and traditional music concerts under the banner of ‘Y Parlwr’. I am currently in receipt of a Llais y Lle grant from ACW, to develop ‘Cylch Canu’, sessions for Welsh learners and speakers to socialise and learn traditional folk songs.
