Gethin Pearson is a writer, producer and mixer whose work is defined by a deep sensitivity to how records feel as much as how they sound. Beginning in a converted coal shed in the Welsh valleys and driven by an instinct for developing artists’ sonic identities, he has built a diverse body of work spanning both emerging and established acts.
His wide range of credits include Kele Okereke’s critically acclaimed solo album 2042 and Badly Drawn Boy’s Mercury Prize-winning project Banana Skin Shoes, which he also co-wrote, as well as co-writing and producing Adwaith’s Eto. He has worked across a broad spectrum of artists including Charli XCX, Crystal Fighters, Orla Gartland, Jaws and whenyoung while continuing to develop new talent through projects with artists such as Ferguson, Walt Disco and KennyHoopla, as well starting a label venture, Cemetery Blonde.
He is the co-founder of the Institute of Sonic Architecture, a residential recording studio in West Wales designed as a creative retreat for artists at all stages of their careers. Alongside production facilities, the studio also offers an integrated approach to artist well-being through Stronger Minds In Music, supporting sustainable creative practice within the demands of the modern music industry.
