As co-owner and music programmer of the acclaimed Róisín Dubh venue, he has been instrumental in bringing original, cutting-edge music to the West of Ireland for over 30 years. Gugai also plays a key role in the Galway International Arts Festival, where he curates the Heineken® Big Top concert series—one of the West of Ireland’s most high-profile and best-attended events. He also runs Strange Brew, an independent record label and artist agency, which had also put on events like the Fall Right Into Place festival and the new punk & metal weekender, TORANN, which takes place across Galway in January.
