  • Ian Puleston-Davies (Minera Studios Cymru)

    Ian Puleston-Davies is a writer, director, (former stand-up comedian) and actor known for gritty, character-driven storytelling. He’s played intense roles, from a serial killer in ‘Marcella’ to the chilling Frank in ‘Tin Star’ alongside Tim Roth and Christina Hendricks. His role in ‘Pennyworth’ further cemented his UK and US presence.

    As a writer, Ian co-wrote ‘Dirty, Filthy, Love’ with Oscar-nominated Jeff Pope, earning a BAFTA nomination, a Royal Television Society Award, a Broadcast Award, and a Mental Health in Media Recognition Award.

    He made his directorial TV debut with the single drama: ‘Time Out’ as part of the BBC’s Jimmy McGovern series: ‘Moving On’.

    In 2023, Ian made his directorial feature debut with ‘Bolan’s Shoes’, starring Timothy Spall and Leanne Best, a music-driven drama exploring trauma, nostalgia, and the glam rock era of T. Rex, winning best film at the National Film Awards and a BAFTA Cymru nomination.

    He currently has two features in development: ‘Love Ireland’ (Mad As Birds) and ‘The Self-Righteous Brothers (Minera Studios), and has a TV series: ‘Box of Frogs’ in development with Hat Trick.
