Dechreuodd John fel cerddor a chyfansoddwr mewn nifer o fandiau Cymraeg cyn symud i Lundain gyda band. Bellach wedi’i leoli yng Nghymru, fo ydy Uwch Reolwr Cysylltiadau Aelodaeth PRS for Music Cymru, gan wasanaethu holl gyfansoddwyr, cyhoeddwyr ac awduron PRS ac MCPS Cymru. Mae hefyd wedi gweithio ar draws sawl maes gwahanol yn amrywio o hawlfraint i bob agwedd ar drwyddedu. Fo gychwynnodd y cyd-drwyddedu cyntaf o repertoire MCPS a PPL a bu’n allweddol wrth ddyfeisio’r drwydded gyffredinol o repertoire a ddefnyddir gan gwmnïau cynhyrchu annibynnol ar gyfer S4C, sydd mewn lle hyd heddiw.
John started as a musician and composer in numerous Welsh bands before moving to London with a band. Now Wales based, he is PRS for Music’s Senior Membership Relations Manager for Wales, serving all Welsh PRS and MCPS composers, publishers, and authors. He has also worked across several different areas ranging from copyright to all aspects of licensing. He initiated the first joint licensing of MCPS and PPL repertoire and was instrumental in devising the blanket licensing of repertoire used by independent production companies for S4C, which is in place to this day.
