Kelly O’Connor is the Head of Cultural Affairs at the Irish Embassy in London where she programmes a diverse line-up of live events. Her work also extends across the Irish Consulates in Edinburgh, Manchester and Cardiff, and she supports major GB showcases with Ireland’s cultural export office, Culture Ireland, including at key arts festivals such as Edinburgh, Hay, The Great Escape and Celtic Connections. Kelly has a fine art and film background, and has worked directly in the arts industries of Dublin and London for the last 20 years.
Kelly is also Co-President of EUNIC London, a network of cultural institutes and embassies from the member states of the European Union. A branch of EUNIC Global, the London network has 37 members who share knowledge and resources in order to promote greater cooperation and develop partnerships between European nations and UK organisations. They run the European Writers Festival and the In Short Europe Film Festival, alongside residencies such as the Creative Producers Residency with Factory International, Manchester.
