Crispin Hunt is a leading creator, rights and copyright advocate, and a
multi-platinum-selling songwriter and producer. He is currently the elected President of
the PRS Members’ Council and a proud EXCO member of the International Council of
Music Creators (ICMC).
Crispin began his career as the singer and songwriter for the Britpop band Longpigs and
has since enjoyed a highly successful writing and production career, working with
chart-topping artists including Florence & The Machine, Ellie Goulding, Lana Del Rey,
Tom Grennan, Rebecca Ferguson, You Me at Six, Jake Bugg, JP Cooper, Bat for Lashes,
Natalie Imbruglia and Newton Faulkner, among many others.
He served as Chair of the Ivors Academy for five years before stepping down in eary 2022. During his tenure, Crispin was a prominent campaigner for songwriters’ rights,
working closely with PRS for Music to support delivery of the EU Copyright Directive and
spearheading major initiatives such as Fix Streaming, Composers Against Buyouts, and
Credits Due with ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus.
Throughout his career, Crispin has consistently represented creators’ interests and has
played influential roles across the industry, including contributions to PPL, UK Music,
the IPO Copyright Advisory Panel, and the Featured Artists Coalition, where he served
as co-CEO.
Beyond music, Crispin has also worked in Parliament as a Labour political researcher
and stood as an MEP candidate for Change UK, campaigning against Brexit.
He has four children and lives between Somerset and London
