Eric Martin’s contribution to the growth of Hip-House as a global phenomenon is undeniable. Starting his career as a writer/producer at Zomba/Jive Records, Eric eventually came to fame as a founding member of the seminal ’90s House act Technotronic, co-writing their classic “Pump Up The Jam” multi-platinum album which sold over 14 million copies worldwide in its first year.
Eric’s first solo project “As Far As I’m Concerned” on Island Records featuring Hip-Hop legends Guru of Gangstarr, Group Home, Tony Touch, Evil Dee and The Roots, was short-listed for the Mercury Music Prize.
In addition to Technotronic and Me-One, Eric has written and produced for Shaun Escoffery, Akil The MC (Jurassic 5), Maxi Priest, Capleton, and Jeff Beck to name a few. He also tours the official, ground-breaking Technotronic DJ set around the globe and has established an exciting record label called Musicated Records, which has enjoyed several number 1# spots in the Garage chart at Traxsource!
In October 2024, Eric became a recipient of the Music Inspiration Award at the Welsh Music Prize awards in honour of his contribution to the Welsh music scene. No doubt, a direct result of the influence his work has had on several generations across the globe.
