Wrexham based Singer-Songwriter Tom Dayer specialises in the beautifully bittersweet. His songs are unadorned, heartfelt explorations of love and it’s aftermath. Tom’s musical career started in the 80’s as guitarist and principal songwriter for London based indie band “The funniest joke in the world”. When the band split on new year’s day 1990, Tom drifted away from music, only to rediscover the creative joy of song writing in his latter years. Having struck up a friendship with producer and multi-instrumentalist Nick Sagar after meeting on a song writing retreat on Knoydart, Tom is now in the process of recording a catalogue of songs at Nick’s 3507 Studio in Preston. After releasing the first of these in 2025, the plan is to have regular song releases throughout 2026. Tom has also co-written songs with other independent artists including Norway based artist Monzie Blue and Colchester based Sarah Louise.
