“I say this a lot but truly Adult DVD are the best band coming out of Leeds right now” BBC 6Music
Joining previous singles ‘Doomsday Prepper’, which with its warped percussion and screaming won a recent BBC Radio 6 Music Roundtable session and the pounding ‘7 foot 1’, Leeds outfit Adult DVD share ‘Do Something’, the final single from much anticipated ‘Next Day Shipping’ EP.
Showing the influence of Indie Dance and the legacy of international Acid House scenes, the five-track EP is packed with clear-cut hits in the making. The full EP is due September 2024 ahead of a long EU and UK tour schedule including headline dates at the legendary Moth Club in London and a hometown headline at The Brudenell Social Club in Leeds.
Through a consistently infectious and ever-expanding discography – including cult single ‘Bill Murray’, cosigned by the actor himself – and a series of shows with Unknown Mortal Orchestra, PVA, Warmduscher, Do Nothing, the band have developed a propulsive and hook-laden style loved by Clash, Radio 6, Radio 1, Radio X, Spotify’s Hot New Bands playlistandfestivalslike Left Of The Dial, Nuits Sonores and Beat-Herder.
One of the most chuggy cuts on the EP , ‘Do Something’ builds on the idea of a man trying every hobby he can yet with no fulfillment. The track’s modem-like synths move with anxiety as a non-stop drum beat and commanding vocal take charge and push the track to club classic territories. Sharing a similar DNA to the rest of the project, the band’s unashamed confidence is on full display on every second of the song.
Adult DVD are Harry Hanson (Lead Vocals), Greg Lonsdale (Synth / Vocals), Jake Williams (Synth), Danny Blackburn (Guitar / Synth), George Manson (Bass), and Jonathan Newell (Drums)
