Hailing from Pontardawe originally, Aneirin had a strong musical upbringing attending local Welsh trad. sessions in the Swansea Valley (‘Cwmtawe’). As a fiddle player who’s part of an exciting new wave of traditional musicians in Wales, he’s travelled across the world as a member of chamber-trad string-trio Vrï (winners of “BEST ALBUM” in the 2023 Welsh Folk Awards) amongst many other exciting projects. He continues to enjoy a very exciting career with the trio and is now embarking on an exciting journey as a solo artist. For Aneirin, there’s a neverending buzz in giving new life to very old melodies. He also composes his own tunes, inspired from his locality and life-experiences as a musician. He combines the old world of traditional music and intertwines it with the new – a sentiment that is central to his unique sound.
