Kahpun born Samuel (Heart of Africa Reggae & Dancehall) is an award winning multi-talented performing artist and songwriter born & raised in Cape Coast, Ghana. He is described as ‘The African Eagle and is credited as the originator of Fante Danceall & Reggae. Kahpun is the 4 child of 6 born to Anthony and Cecilia Ampah and was raised in a strict, disciplined and loving household where education and academia was encouraged by his parents. These principles he attributes to his creativity, his ability and passion for blending words and rhymes together and producing songs that speak not only to his own life experiences, but highlights social, cultural and conscious issues. Kahpun has a significant following in Ghana made up loyal friends, fans and others who have supported his journey and his passion for Music. He describes his followers as Higher Heightz Army: a descriptor that he uses as a term of endearment to show his supporters that they play an important and significant role in his journey and links them to one entity that he personally identifies with. Kahpun is acutely aware of the importance of fans and followers, hence his determination early on in his career in providing a place and space where they are welcomed and appreciated. Kahpun has no party political or corporate affiliations and attributes his inspiration and focus to a higher authority and describes himself as ‘a very spiritual person’ who is always ‘at one with nature’. He is guided by a global consciousness and uses his art to inspire others to believe in themselves whilst facing challenges. Kahpun is renown for his versatility and creativity in the way in which he blends his lyrics & Rhymes together. His genius is easily and readily transferred from lyrics to visuals and the video’s for his songs which are described as ‘works of art in their own right’ lock in with ease to reaching the higher standards that he sets for himself in everything that he touches in his creative fields. Kahpun is blessed with the ability to take the journey of creating a song from an inspiration to creating the melodies and rhythms, through to performing the song as well as creating and directing the visuals and finally blending it all together to a standard that reflects the high standards that he imposes upon himself and his work. Kahpun is a passionate and focused artist, credited as being a lyrical genius with the ability to transform a life experience into a work of lyrical and visual arts. Kahpun released his solo debut 6 track EP titled ‘My Story- My Song on 31.07.2019. International Appearance Kahpun set off on his first international tour in 2022 travelling to the United Kingdom performing in England and Wales and describes this initial international opportunity as a period of growth and recalibrating his energies. Kahpun uses ‘Eeeeaazzyyy’ and ‘Chubble’ as his lyrical slogans, which are included in all of his releases.
