An expansive project formed of unbridled love and an unwavering appreciation of the divinity of nature, Samana – the duo consisting of Rebecca Rose Harris and Franklin Mockett – centre their work around a Zarathustran philosophy of removing oneself from the confines of contemporary, societal life in the quest of the awakening of the deep spirit. SAMANA’s eponymous album is centred around an emotionally raw and magnetic delivery of a shamanic and cinematic proportion, offering a passage to transcend into worlds unseen. Evolving along multi-disciplinary lines, Samana possess a unique spirit born from a nomadic lifestyle, a participation in Celtic ceremonies and their deep affiliation with the natural world. The duo own a creative, analogue production house born from their Georgian small-holding in the deep corners of the Welsh Countryside, from which is born their anthropological excavations, conjuring layered narratives that address concepts of dreamtime, death, transcendence and collective consciousness.
